Weddings

The marriage service is one of the most sacred and beautiful of all the services of the church.  It is always a worship service in which two persons in the company of loved ones and friends pledge themselves to each other under the blessings of God and are united by God in Holy Marriage.  We rejoice that you are considering this holy and beautiful place of worship for your wedding.

Trinity is a wonderful family of caring and dedicated believers, and they enjoy priority consideration for the use of this facility when a wedding is celebrated.  For many students at the University of Alabama, Trinity is “home away from home,” and it is natural that they choose this place to celebrate their marriages with their family and friends from Tuscaloosa.  Yet others find Trinity to be a beautiful neo-Gothic setting in which they would like to hold their marriage ceremony.

This page provides information to assist in your planning for this most important event.  Please review this information and as early as possible contact the church office to make your wedding a joyous and memorable experience.

Trinity Staff Involved in Weddings

To help make your wedding the best day of your life, Trinity makes available a wedding director, ministerial support and the organist. Trinity is our home, and we know how to make all the wedding details come together to support you at this most exciting time.

You may include your own support staff (director, minister, musicians, florist, and caterer), subject to the Trinity Wedding Policy, but we want to provide our expertise and knowledge of our facilities to make your day memorable.

Wedding Policies and Forms

Please review Trinity United Methodist’s Wedding Policies

Application Form

An application form is available that will provide the church with necessary information. This is provided in a word processor interchange format. Please fill this out in the word processor of your choice or print it out and fill it out by hand.

Agreement Forms

All agreement forms will be due no later than two weeks prior to the wedding. It is the couple’s responsibility to contact the florist, caterer, and photographer and inform them of the Trinity United Methodist wedding policies.

Music

The wedding ceremony is a worship service—a Christian testimony of two Christians being united in Christ. Only sacred or classical music will be allowed. Secular love songs should be reserved for the reception. All music should be approved by a Church Representative (Church Organist, Minister, or Trinity’s Wedding Director). The sound system is available for use. A contact with our church organist must be made in planning the music for the wedding service. If a guest organist is desired, permission must be secured from the church organist, and a key to the organ will be provided.
